Northshore Nursery is locally owned and operated by Mike Newman. Mike is Knoxville's King of horticulture! He is highly revered in the community for his plant knowledge and design creativity. With over 30 years in the landscaping industry, he has a vast amount of experience in designing both residential and commercial landscaping including installing pools, hardscapes, lighting, irrigation, and unique and creative plant material.
Mike began mowing yards as a teenager and his passion for horticulture and design started from there. Prior to purchasing Northshore Nursery in January 2019, Mike owned a successful landscape contractor business for over 25 years. Mike is also a graduate of The University of Tennessee Knoxville with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Design.
Mike's goal for the nursery is to become a "destination" nursery for plant enthusiasts, professional landscape contractors, and homeowners and being recognized for always being on the cutting edge of new up-and-coming plants and landscaping trends.
Mike has one daughter, Morgan, who currently attends the University of Tennessee. Another face you are sure to see around the nursery is Heartly the Golden Retriever who greets all of our visitors with a smile!
